Africa is, perhaps surprisingly, one of the most welcoming destinations in the world for solo travellers. Safari travel can be a very sociable experience where you meet liked-minded people, join group activities and are looked after by guides who invest deeply in every guest’s experience. Meaning that arriving alone rarely feels that way for long.

Often the best camps and lodges for a solo trip are smaller, more intimate bushcamps as they have an atmosphere of an expedition with a great sense of camaraderie. You’ll dine with your hosts and fellow guests, whilst spending your days exploring the area and enjoying safari activities together.

For solo travellers who prefer privacy and seclusion over communal experience, that too is entirely possible. There are camps and lodges across the continent that offer exceptional solo experiences without the social dimension.

Note: It is worth noting that most lodges charge a single supplement for solo occupancy, which typically adds around 50% to the per-person sharing rate. There are, however, properties that waive this entirely. Either way we will tailor-make your trip to ensure it best suits your needs and budget.
